A Turning Point
In the Conflict with Iran

Potential Iran Nuclear Bomb

Note to the reader: The following was published June 21st at 5:30 pm before the bombing took place that evening. While the article speculates the bombing might occur early morning June 23, the analysis is still relevant given that the critical period was between June 21-23rd, the latter date being when Israel launched a second major attack.

As we anxiously await the outcome of the Israel-Iran war, it is worth noting that early Monday morning, June 23 at 5:00 am in the city of Qom, the site of Iran’s nuclear bomb facility buried deep inside a mountain, the Sun and Jupiter will align within a degree directly on the Ascendant in Cancer while squaring Saturn-Neptune Aries 10th and sextiling Mars Virgo 3rd (see chart).

Possible Date of U.S. Attack on Iran

June 23, 5:00 am, Qom Iran

At that very moment, a new day is being born, but it may be a dark one indeed for Iran. Mars, the spark that could ignite the entire configuration into a conflagration, forms an exact sextile to Jupiter-Sun on the Ascendant with all three planets quincunxing Pluto in the 8th. For Jupiter and Mars, the quincunxes to Pluto are forebodingly exact. This uranium-enriched devil’s brew makes for a seething, volcanic Yod.

A Yod is an aspect between one planet (the focal planet) that forms quincunxes to two other planets that are in sextile. The focal planet is under tremendous stress in that it faces a severe crisis and/or dilemma involving the planets it quincunxes. To resolve the problem/crisis, it must adjust or transform as the situation dictates. In this case, Pluto is the focal planet.

To call Pluto an agent of transformation under these circumstances is redundant on several levels. Not only is Pluto always an agent of transformation, here it is also in its own house (the 8th), which compounds its intensity. Moreover, it receives a closing quincunx from Mars, which is a Scorpio (150°) angle and thus Plutonic in itself. Add to this the fact that Mars inflames and renders aggressive whatever it touches. In short, this is Pluto on steroids.

Mars Virgo is involved in yet another lethal Yod. This time, Mars is the focal planet forming quincunxes to Saturn-Neptune 10th and Pluto Aquarius 8th. A Saturn-Neptune conjunction can symbolize a quest to bring order out of chaos, or the collapse of order into civil disorder. Most likely it will be both, as we have been witnessing in America with the dismantling of the administrative state (the DOGE project to eliminate government waste, fraud, and abuse), but also the anti-ICE riots in numerous cities (civil disorder). In both instances, the Mars influence is plain enough. DOGE has been accused of being too aggressive in eliminating government agencies, and the anti-ICE riots are, well, riots.

It is also significant that there is a repeating theme involving the Aries-Mars archetype. Not only are Saturn-Neptune in Aries, but they are forming a hard aspect to Mars, which is their dispositor (the planet that rules the sign the other planets are in). I call this being “ill-disposed”. A dispositor should assist the disposed planets in achieving their aims; yet, if the dispositor is resisting while still influencing the disposed planets due to the hard aspect, it creates a problematic excess of the archetype in question (Aries-Mars) and is likely to result in “blowback”.

Exhibit A is Iran, which unequivocally symbolizes a government (Saturn) under attack, both from Israel and also, quite possibly, from the United States. As allies, both countries are acting like planets in sextile: Saturn-Neptune sextile Pluto. Both are reacting to Iran’s ceaseless aggression over the last four decades. A planet in Aries forming a quincunx to its dispositor, Mars, is a double dose of trouble or what we might call a hot mess. The Neptune component suggests a government (Saturn) collapsing into flaming ruins, which is apt to be exacerbated when these two planets occupy the 10th house for a two-hour period.

Moreover, note that Mars simultaneously forms a close square to an exact Moon-Uranus conjunction in the 12th, an aspect that augurs a violent, disastrous overthrow of something―a country, perhaps?

Seldom is a single planet―in this case, the god of War―so powerfully yet dangerously stressed. Picture Mars Virgo in the 3rd (house of communications) delivering an unwelcome message to Iran’s psychopathic mullahs in the 10th house of government. Again, Iran’s genocidal clerics have been threatening to annihilate Israel―in their words, the “little Satan” and the United States, the “big Satan”―for more than three decades. According to former Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, it is estimated that Iran killed more than 2000 American soldiers and civilians during that period. This requires sending a message.

Enter Mars Virgo in the 3rd. But Mars doesn’t just talk, it acts, and is further emboldened by an infusion of transformative power from Pluto. Imagine a precision strike that turns a mountain bunker into a lake of fire and a government into dust. Now that’s a message, an unwelcome message indeed.

Jupiter square Neptune is essentially a conflict between moral judgement (Jupiter) and divine compassion (Neptune). Saturn conjoining Neptune in Aries compounds the picture with an injection of discipline and rigor into what heretofore was merely wishful thinking. Saturn grounds compassion and converts the ideal into the real. Its square to Jupiter-Cancer suggests an authoritative, transcendent force providing the requisite moral clarity for a country (Israel/America) to justify war in the service of its natural right to self-preservation (Aries), and to do so by any means necessary.

The outcome of these planetary alignments is impossible to predict and will be different for each country. But we can speculate. For Israel, it is biblical: David, now fully grown, is once again confronting his ancient enemy. This time, it is an entire country of Goliaths in a final battle to gain an enduring victory over the face of evil. For the United States, it is a fateful dilemma: how to empower Israel to eliminate Iran’s nuclear threat without plunging America into another endless Middle East war. And for Iran, it is their fanatical Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, staring helpless and wild-eyed down the barrel of a gun wielded by the vanguard of western civilization.

In America, opinions (Jupiter) are divided as to whether our homeland (Cancer) is best served by restraint (Saturn) and letting go (Neptune) for the sake of a fragile, uneasy peace as sought and bought by the Obama-Biden administrations — or, fighting a disciplined, inspired, and morally justified war to assure humanity’s future against Iran’s nuclear-fueled, apocalyptic fever dream of destroying western civilization for the sake of the global spread of Islam.

The essential question is whether it is in America’s self-interest to assist Israel by delivering a knockout, bunker-buster blow at the risk of escalating the war. This encapsulates the tension of the moment as symbolized by Saturn/Neptune Aries square Jupiter Cancer.

But there is another, pivotal factor to consider: the Sun.

It has been said that all of politics revolves around a single question: who decides? Astrologically, the decider is the Sun, symbolizing freedom of will to create one’s world in accord with personal preferences. In a constitutional republic, this is as true for the collective will of the people as it is for any individual. Decisions. Must. Be. Made.

With transiting Sun joining forces with Jupiter Cancer over the weekend, we are likely to witness a momentary upsurge of heroic patriotism. And with both planets squaring Saturn-Neptune in warlike Aries, combined with inflammatory Mars turning up the heat on virtually the entire chart, this looks very much like America’s military forces ― Naval destroyers, aircraft carriers, and lethal B-2 stealth bombers ― converging on the middle east like a swarm of killer bees to deliver a single, decisive strike, hopefully bringing a final end to the madness.

In the United States, this decision belongs to the people—and by our collective will, we have placed that responsibility in the hands of our commander in chief.

The GBU-57A/B Massive Ordinance Penetrator (MOP)

The main target is Iran’s Fordow Fuel Enrichment Plant located 20 miles northeast the city of Qom. This site, designed to house 3,000 centrifuges for the enrichment of weapons-grade uranium, is buried 90 meters below a mountain of solid rock. While a chart lends itself to multiple stories and meanings, one meaning of the chart-at-hand is that it symbolizes a large, heavy bomb, the GBU-57A/B Massive Ordinance Penetrator (MOP) weighing 30,000 pounds and singularly capable of leveling a mountain bunker and turning it into a highway to hell.

Hello Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Talk about a wakeup call.

Thanks for highlighting the Yods. The comments by Brian and your response gives me food for thought, not only for the national/international scene, but also for the personal.

Thanks, Glenn. Good astrological insights. As Jupiter is making an opening square to Sa/Ne, I’m afraid this is just the beginning of this offensive by the US who will likely feel emboldened by its solar return placement of Jupiter. We get to be witnesses.

The double (intersecting) yod is a configuration I call a paradox box, because of the self contained contradiction in the configuration. A paradox is:

    1. A statement that seems to contradict itself but may nonetheless be true.
2 A person, thing, or situation that exhibits inexplicable or contradictory aspects.
3 A statement that is self-contradictory or logically untenable, though based on a valid deduction from acceptable premises. – AHD

After studying many charts with this configuration, including Leonardo DaVinci, I have theorized that it often represents people with internal contradictions that provoke novel or extreme responses to circumstances beyond their control. The square connecting the yods on the opposite side of the focal inconjunct planets, (what I call the lid of the paradox box) is key to unlocking the internal contradiction and resolving the contradictory yods. If the internal responses are relatively successful in resolving the square, individuals with these configurations can often display remarkable talents, skills or genius that set them apart from all others in their fields.

More commonly, the square defies satisfactory resolution because the internal paradoxical contradiction prevents conscious awareness of how to resolve it. Leonardo DaVinci is one who did. Others with the paradox box are
Rasputin, Emma Goldman (author, activist), Joseph Weil (conman), Victor Lustig (conman), Linda Kasabian (Manson family), Christopher Reeve, Vladimir Putin, Dave Chappelle.

I hope this little analysis helps explain a terribly complex configuration

Thanks for sharing, Brian. I might add that inherent to any quincunx is a paradox since by definition the participating planets occupy signs that have nothing in common — differing by polarity, element, modality, and perspective. Since the signs involved constitute needs that are contradictory yet the planets are tasked with integrating them, a successful resolution appears paradoxical.

As with any hard aspect, the key to resolving the quincunx (and by extension the Yod) is awareness, control, and perseverance — in a word, integration. In this context, integration means to achieve integrity (self-consistency, indivisibility) vis-a-vis that configuration. Like integrity as a whole, integration is something that emerges over time and unfolds along a continuum from less to more integrated states.

Evidence that people can integrate their quincunxes and Yods is available in case histories of successful people, though the task is perhaps the most difficult of any aspect. But if you have one, it’s the only game in town and demands continuous work, which, in turn, may yield talents and skills that provide solutions to some of life’s most thorny problems and perplexing dilemmas.
